Certificate in Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations - 2396

Firstly to undertake this course you must already possess the 2391 or 2391-10 Inspection and Testing qualification.

The 2396 course has been developed to comply with the British Standard BS7671 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and will effectively replace the current City and Guilds 2391-20 Design, Erection and Verification of Electrical Installations full five day course. The five days will normally be one day a week over five weeks.

During this course the delegate has to complete a C&G project on the design of an electrical installation. This design project will enable the delegate to demonstrate his or her ability to design an electrical installation and also consider other elements such as erection methods for a typical electrical installation.

The delegate will also have to demonstrate a practical competence in Inspection and Testing and undertake an external 3 hour written exam paper. Success in all three components of the design project, practical assessment of competence at inspection and testing and success in the written exam will result in the 2391-20 qualification and Certificate being awarded.

Due to the complex nature of this course it is strongly recommended that delegates should have successfully completed the City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition course.

The course is aimed at supervisors of registered and non-registered electrical contractors, technicians and electricians. Attendance on this course will help Contractors and their electricians, Conforming Bodies and other organisations in design, erection and verification techniques.

Companies or individuals wishing to join a Domestic Installer Scheme provider will benefit from attending the course by gaining a better understanding of design, construction, inspection, testing and documentation requirements.
