2396 DESIGN, ERECTION & VERIFICATION OF ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
Before undertaking this qualification, candidates should seriously consider undertaking the L3 Initial Verification and L3 Periodic Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations (2391), as well as obtaining industry experience. It is also highly recommended that candidates have achieved the C&G 2382-18.

The 2396 course has been developed to comply with BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Following completion of the 5 training days and written exam, delegates need to complete a C&G project on the design of an electrical installation. This design project will enable the delegate to demonstrate his or her ability to design an electrical installation and also consider other elements such as erection methods for a typical electrical installation.
The course is aimed at supervisors of registered and non-registered electrical contractors, technicians and electricians. Attendance on this course will help Contractors and their electricians, Conforming Bodies and other organisation's in design, erection and verification techniques.
Companies or individuals wishing to join a Domestic Installer Scheme provider will benefit from attending the course by gaining a better understanding of design, construction, inspection, testing and documentation requirements.
Essential publications: 18th edition copies of IET BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (£95), IET Guidance Note 3 (£35) and IET On-Side Guide (£30), all three are available from us and can be purchased for £140. These publications will be used as course material and are permitted within the exam. It is also highly recommend to have copies of IET Electric Vehicle Charging Points Installation 4th edition (£75) and IET Guidance Note 1 Selection & Erection (£38). The Electrical Installation Design Guide, Calculations for Electricians & Designers will be supplied by us.
