Course Information:
This qualification covers the knowledge and understanding of the requirements for fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings, including fire risk assessments, design, installation and commissioning, and certification and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems. The focus is on fire detection and alarm systems within Grades D F, but will also cover Grades A and C.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Know the key legislation and regulations applicable to fire detection and alarm systems in dwellings.
2. Understand the requirements for fire risk assessments.
3. Understand the design of fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings.
4. Understand the installation requirements for fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings.
5. Understand the requirements for commissioning, certification and maintenance of the fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings.

Learner Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements, however delegates must have the potential to achieve this qualification.

For this course, delegates are required to have a copy of BS 5839-6:2019 +A1:2020 Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings, this being Part 6 Code of Practice for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in domestic premises. Delegates using their own copy will be able to highlight or mark-up for ease during the course. For those unable to obtain their own copy, will be able to use one of the office copies, but they will not be able to highlight or mark-up.

Delegates will require a scientific calculator for use throughout the course and for the exam.  We can supply one at £10 inc. VAT if required.

How is this qualification assessed?
The learner will be assessed against this qualification by one 45 question on-screen multiple-choice exam. This is a closed book exam. This qualification is graded pass or fail only.

Training Venue:
Training is delivered from our training centre in Strood, near Rochester in Kent (ME2 2LT).
For the majority of our courses, we can provide training at on-site client locations for group bookings. Please inquire with us should this be something you require. Minimum delegate numbers are required.
