Course Information:
This two-day EAL course covers the knowledge, understanding and some of the skills associated with the design, specification, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and handover of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS).  The course is aimed at competent electricians who wish to demonstrate that they have the necessary understanding and skills associated with an Electrical Energy Storage System (EESS), associated typically with a dwelling.  It has a range of relevant outcomes covering statutory legislation applicable to EESS, the principles of batteries and EESS, how to specify and design an EESS, installation, inspection and testing, and handover of an EESS.

This course is a recognised course, which upon successful completion, enables delegates to apply for MCS accreditation.

Unlike other providers, our course includes hands-on practical tuition and demonstrations.

Entry Requirements:
This qualification is for suitably qualified electricians only, who are conversant with inspection and testing and the wiring regulations.  Learners are expected to have the potential to achieve this qualification, with the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy required to complete the learning outcomes and assessments.  Learners must be 18+ years of age.

This qualification is assessed using an onscreen multiple-choice exam and a practical assessment; both of which must be passed for the qualification to be awarded.

This is an ideal qualification to gain, following on from the four-day PV Solar course that we also provide - EAL Level 3 Award In the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems (600/5175/9).

Required Publications:
It follows the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems (2nd edition) and industry guidance, together with the requirements of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.  These are required publications and available from us at £71.50 and £99 respectively.
