2391-52 INITIAL VERIFICATION and PERIODIC INSPECTION & TESTING
Price range: £950.00 through £1,100.00 (Ex VAT)
Course Information:
This City & Guilds course covers the specific methods of inspecting and testing all types of installations, whether single or three-phase, to the current requirements of BS 7671, including inspection and testing techniques as given in the IET Guidance Note 3 and how to professionally complete Certification and Reports.
A 2391 qualification is currently required to gain your JIB grading as an approved electrician.
Please Note: There is limited practical training during this course, therefore we recommend that you attend our additional practical ‘practice’ day.
Learner Entry Requirements:
This qualification must not be taken by learners new to the industry who do not possess sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to undertake inspection and testing safely and competently. This qualification is also not suitable for learners with limited experience of working in the electrotechnical sector, or who do not already hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications.
We will conduct a thorough initial assessment of applicants to establish that their current skills, knowledge, and experience is sufficient prior to qualification enrolment.
You must be over 18 years of age and up to date with industry requirements.
Part of the course will require you to be able to perform some cable calculations without the use of software, so if your knowledge of Basic Cable Calculations is a little out of date, we highly recommend that you attend the one-day course covering this.
Required publications:
Latest edition of IET BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, IET Guidance Note 3 and IET On-Site Guide. These publications will be used as course material and are permitted within the exam.
Recommended publications:
IET Exam Preparation (Electrical Installations – 2391). This book will include guidelines and advice about sitting the exam; practice examinations, with fully worked and 'model' answers and act as a valuable revision aid, to help students prepare for the full exam. This book cannot guarantee a positive exam result, but it can play an important role in your overall revision programme, enabling you to focus your preparation and approach the exam with confidence.
Delegates will require a scientific calculator for use throughout the course and for the exam.
Publications are available to purchase from us. See our Publications page for pricing and further details.
Exams and Assessments:
60 questions, 120 minutes, open book, multiple-choice online exam.
