What is this qualification?
This one-day course provides the learner with an understanding of the application of BS 5266-1 and the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of emergency lighting systems conforming to the requirements of BS 5266, BS EN 1838 and BS EN 50172.
Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is for Personnel involved in the electrotechnical sector, such as electricians, designers and inspectors, who wish to update their knowledge of emergency lighting system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance and for learners who wish to gain an understanding of emergency lighting systems.
What does this qualification cover?
The qualification covers the content of BS 5266-1 and how to apply the British Standard during design, installation, commissioning and maintenance to ensure emergency lighting systems conform to BS 5266, BS EN 1838 and BS EN 50172.
Course Material:
Candidates are required to have a copy of BS 5266-1:2025 Code of Practice for the emergency lighting of premises (updated 31.10.25) for this course, which they will be able to highlight and mark-up during the course and for ease navigating through during the online exam. However, for candidates who are unable to obtain their own copy, they will be able to use one of the office copies, but they will not be able to highlight or mark-up.
Training Venue:
Training is delivered from our training centre in Strood, near Rochester in Kent (ME2 2LT).
For the majority of our courses, we can provide training at on-site client locations for group bookings. Please inquire with us should this be something you require. Minimum delegate numbers are required.
